Races are held once a month in the winter and once a week in the summer.

Summer Update

Oceanside’s Lido 14 Fleet 21 members are dominating the area’s summer racing. Given Harrison and crewman Lou Servatka on ‘Buckeroo’ have won the 1^st series of Thirsty Thursdays in the largest fleet, LIDOS! Jay and Holly Davis (‘Irish Car Bomb’) have won the 1^st series of the Wednesday night races in the PHRF class. Sue Miller and crew, Melissa (‘Lazlo’) won the SMYC Ladies Day Race, and Hugh Mast (‘Don’t Mess with Kitty’) has won the 1^st series of Thirsty Thursdays in his sabot, ‘Moko Jumbie’.

Coincidence? I think not. Sailing in small boats is the best way to learn this sport and much of our Lido fleet is taking advantage of the great summer venue to improve their skills. Pat and Paul Gadbois are putting on a terrific series with lots of really neat trophies and a lively crowd at the Yacht Club after each race. There’s even parking permits provided so we can park our trailers near the club during the after- race festivities.

The first series of the Thirsty Thursdays Lido class had a lot of action ending in only 1 point difference between 1^st and 2^nd. Seven Lidos have shown up to race, including 2 hunks of fresh meat, Jack and Margie in ‘A Little Quickie’ and Steve Rhoades in a familiar rig.
